I am the owner and writer of this blog.

I am a retired economics professor, with graduate degrees from the University of Delaware and Columbia. I began my career teaching Algebra-II & Analytic Geometry in high school. The courses I taught over the next 40 years were a weird assortment: Technical Drawing, Civics, Sociology of Human Sexuality, Criminology, Weight Management, and lastly, Environmental Economics.

As a rational progressive, I view the Democratic Party with skepticism. The critical tone of some posts is motivated by this rule: When you demonize  the opposition, you tend to imbue the leaders of your party with virtues they definitely don't possess.
